Apart from the general obligations relating to road traffic, a few special rules exist in Germany, such as those referring to wearing fluorescent vests, taking along children and using the vehicle’s headlights during daytime.

Rescue lane |
In the case of a traffic jam on multi-lane roads, all drivers are obliged to release the rescue lane. The rescue lane must always be formed between the left and the remaining lanes. |
