In Germany, the Federal States are responsible for scheduling their school holidays. Therefore, the States have holidays at different times. Also, public holidays may differ from one State to another.

October 3 German Unification Day (National Holiday)
October 31 Reformation Day

(only Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia)

November 1 All Saints’ Day

(only Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westfalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland)

Floating Penance Day

(only Saxony)
